Macaroni Laughs

A Christmas Poem

By Courtney Wright December 21, 2011

`Twas the week of Christmas, and boy was I stressed,
there were still presents to wrap, and my house???  Whatta mess!!!!

The stockings were not yet bought, much less hung with care,
maybe we can just use ONE of dad's socks, let the kids share??

The children's brains were invaded by elves,
"Don't do that"!  "Keep your hands to yourselves"!!!!!

Just two of the phrases I will repeat alllllll week,
Nah....my kids are really good.....when they are asleep :)

Presents still to buy, lots of cookies to bake,
I KNOW when Christmas is, why do I always wait???

I guess I enjoy whirlwind of it all...
except almost getting ran over IN the mall.

But in the end, it is worth every bit of stress,
to see their faces when they see what Santa left.

The "oooohs" and "ahhhhs" and screams and shouts,
quickly remind me what being a mom is all about.

If you should find yourself in a tizzy like me,
When you can't find "that" gift, and have a leaning tree,

Sit down for a few, relax, and calm down!!
These are the moments that make the world go ` round!
