Macaroni Crafts ~ Marble Painting

By Ann Becker, Stockton CA Publisher Mom April 26, 2012

Supplies:
- Marbles (or ping pong balls)
- Tempera Paint
- egg carton
- spoon
- shallow box (can use an old canister with a lid, such as a Pringles can)

This was a fun and easy art project that my kids and our friends did at the park one day.  Both the younger and older kids had fun with this activity.  We first set up all the paint colors into the egg carton then placed a marble in each color.   *Note: marbles can be choking hazards; for children under 3 years old, you may choose to use ping pong balls instead*

A Facebook fan of ours suggested using acorns, rocks, whatever nature is around you.  Such a great suggestion!  I think next time we'll try it with rocks that the kids have found.

Cut a sheet of paper to fit the bottom of the shallow box and place inside (or roll it inside the canister).  After the marble is coated with paint, dump it with spoon onto your paper and let the marble roll its color off onto the paper.  If using a canister with a lid, you simply shake the can.

Have fun!
