Welcome the Unofficial Start of Summer at Kool Park Pool

By sponsored content from Kool Park Pool May 22, 2014

Opening day for the 2014 season at Kool Park Pool is scheduled for Saturday, May 24th at 10am, but stay tuned to their Facebook page or call (828) 256-8716 for updates.

Kool Park Pool first opened in May of 1935 and has been a popular attraction for families for generations.  At the park, you will find a 90ft fiberglass slide, three diving boards ranging from 3ft to 12ft, and a 15ft diving tower.  The water depth ranges from 18in to 15ft and there are lifeguards on duty at all times.  There are approximately 100 picnic tables, dozens of wooden benches for sunbathing and plenty of shaded areas for various activities, including a game room.

While concessions are available at the park, you may bring in your own stocked cooler;  the only rules are no alcohol and no glass bottles (and no chewing gum).  Coolers are checked upon entry to the park.  Bring anything you need for a day of fun: pool toys, games, food and drinks, etc.

Kool Park Pool is a great place to hold your next big event, whether a birthday party, church outing, youth group get together or family reunion.  Large groups of 25 or more are admitted at a discount every day except on weekends and holidays arranged ahead of time.  Call today to schedule your next event with Kool Park Pool!

Located at 3170 31st Avenue Court NE in Hickory, Kool Park Pool is open 7 days a week, weather permitting, from 10am to 6pm late May through Labor Day.  Admission is $15 per person ages 13 and up, $8 for children 12 and under and adults 65 and older, and no charge for children ages 2 and under.  Cash is the only form of payment accepted. Admission is half price from 3-6pm Mon-Fri except the week of Jul 4th and season passes are available. $5 swim nights are scheduled for Wednesday, Friday and Saturday nights through the 2014 season, with live music and barbecue plates available for purchase.
