New Hope Moravian Preschool ~ Now Registering for Fall

By sponsored July 17, 2014

Serving Catawba County for 20 years, the Children’s Morning Out Program at New Hope Moravian Church offers students ages 18 months to 4 years old a positive learning experience. Located on Sandy Ford Road in Newton, our mission is to provide a loving and Christian atmosphere where children can feel good about themselves.  We hope to encourage each child, helping them to develop a positive self-image that will enable them to meet the demands of their next learning experience.

Our 2 and 3 year-old classes follow a monthly theme based curriculum which includes reading, counting, sequencing, science and art activities. Our Kindergarten Readiness class, in compliance with the CORE standards adopted by Catawba County Schools, provides a theme based curriculum focused on math, science, and handwriting. We have adopted the Letterland curriculum, used in most kindergarten classrooms, to teach letter and sound recognition and promote early literacy. All classes have a structured day which includes center play, outside play, and circle time.

Weekly activities include school wide chapel, library time and book checkout, and computer time. Each class participates in a bi-monthly music class where they sing a variety of songs, play rhythm instruments, and learn to play the children’s handbells. Our outside programming includes visits from the Catawba Science Center, bi-monthly classes with Stretch-n-Grow fitness program, and the Art Adventures program through the Hickory Art Museum. We also participate in the Bookbaggers Program through Catawba County Library System which allows us to use and exchange books on a monthly basis.

All classes meet from 8:30-11:30 Monday through Thursday. Our Lunch Bunch program offers additional child care options. Our regular school year starts September 2nd through May 28th.  We offer a Summer Camp program, which includes a class for school-age children, that runs from June 9th-August 20th.  Please see the chart below for additional information, visit our website at www.newhopemoravian.com, email our director Ms. Lauren at newhopecmo@gmail.com, or call 828-294-4802.
