11th Annual Catawba RiverFest ~ Sept 20

September 18, 2014

The 11th Annual Catawba RiverFest will take place from 10am to 3pm on Saturday, September 20, 2014, at Lake James State Park Paddy’s Creek Area in Nebo.

For generations, the Catawba River has shaped the economic vitality of the region and remains a public commons of immeasurable recreational value.  The river and its system of reservoirs face competing interests, including power generation, public water supply, waste assimilation, recreation and critical aquatic wildlife habitat. Catawba RiverFest  promotes a greater appreciation of this vital waterway and efforts to protect and improve this valuable natural resource.  The day-long event highlights a variety of conservation groups and their ongoing work to improve the quality of life for people and animals along the river.
