Thanks for joining us! We are here for NC Western Piedmont area moms and dads, grandparents and caretakers too, who love finding fun, family-friendly things to do in Hickory, Lenoir, Newton-Conover, Morganton, Taylorsville and surrounding areasNew to us?  Click here for a quick tour.

I don't know about you, but I have LOVED these last few days of spring-like temperatures. I squeezed in a daily walk for seven days straight now, which has been great not just for my physical health, but for my mental state as well! I hope you too took advantage of an opportunity to soak up the sun and enjoy time outside.

Apparently the nice weather is coming to an end; it is winter afterall. Whether you're looking for stuff to do with the kids while the weather has you cooped up inside or exploring options for local area events and activities to enjoy with your loved ones, we've got the 411 on family fun this winter. This week we bring you five activities to beat the winter blues, highlights of Blowing Rock's WinterFest this weekend, a list of seasonal recipes/crafts/activities from our archives, and our winter break boredom busters list reincarnated (and enhanced) as our ultimate guide to local winter fun.

While we're always dishing out the scoop on family-friendly places and activities, it's the time of the year when we want to hear from you!  Our annual Gold Daisy Awards are back for the third year and here's your opportunity to tell us about whom you love in our community. Nominate your favorite businesses now through February 8th!

This and more awaits in this week's issue; refer to the table of contents for all that is inside. Stay tuned to our calendar where new events are added daily and be sure to follow our Facebook page for all the latest updates. Last but not least... we hope you join us for our Miles from Tomorrowland Premiere Party at the Science Center this Saturday!

Have a great week!
