There are many things I look forward to each spring to officially mark the arrival of this glorious season: warmer temperatures, blooming flowers, greener grass, and Easter for starters. But this week I want to commemorate three more without which it just wouldn't be spring: baseball, farmers markets, and outdoor festivals & events. I bring you all three in this newsletter issue!
The Crawdads kicked off their 2015 season on April 9th and it's a known fact that the start of baseball season means spring is officially here. You'll have plenty of opportunities to catch a home game through September 7th and I highly recommend it as a great family activity. We'll make it easier by offering a $10 discount off the Sweet Frog Claw Club, the official kids' club of the Hickory Crawdads, which gives members a free ticket to every home game of the season and other perks. Better yet, we have a Claw Club membership to give away so be sure to enter for a chance to win!
Spring also brings with it the start of outdoor farmers markets and there are plenty to choose from around our neck of the woods. Refer to our Farmers Markets Guide for a listing of all the local markets around the Hickory/Western Piedmont area.
As temperatures warm up, activities move outdoors and our calendar is jam-packed with festivals and other events to enjoy outside. Be sure to save the date for RockyFest 2015 coming up May 9th at Rocky Face Park in Hiddenite, a great park that's quickly become one of my family's favorites.
