By sponsored May 21, 2015

"Once upon a time, there was a little ogre named Shrek. . ." And thus begins the tale of an unlikely hero when Caldwell County Schools presents "Shrek the Musical" this weekend, with performances at the J.E. Broyhill Civic Center in Lenoir Thursday - Saturday, May 21-23 at 7:30pm and Sunday, May 24 at 2pm.

Please come support this wonderful production performed solely by students of all the Caldwell County Schools including homeschool and private school actors. They sing and perform to the classic story of Shrek and his bizarre adventure to finding happiness.

Forget that Shrek is an Ogre and that Fiona is a Princess who has been locked up all her life and that all of those Fairytale Creatures are right out of the books we all knew as children. Look past all the pretend and see what OUR story is really about you can do this in the form of a MUSICAL!

Support our young, local thespians as they tell this story of friendship and true love with song & dance. Admire the talent our county has been blessed with. And cheer on the hero who discovers "The things that make us special are the things that make us strong."

Seating is reserved. Tickets may be purchased online or at the door. Adult seats are $12 and students are $8 each. There will be concessions each night and silent auction items to bid on, generously donated by local companies. And you can buy your very own pair of Ogre ears to wear during the show!
