Matthew Maxey - AKA DEAFinitely Dope, will be coming to App State’s campuses for a sing-along & sign-along. Whether you know some, a lot, or no sign language, this event will be an engaging, authentic opportunity to learn from a Deaf professional.
This event is hosted by the App State ASL Club & the Office of Diversity.
Here's what you can expect:
1. Song Selection - the audience will pick the songs together
2. Lyrics breakdown - we'll start to decipher the linguistics behind the lyrics and visualize how we can bring the words to life by painting a visual picture.
3. Practice together

5. Background info - Learn more about Matt, Deaf culture, and his experience as a Deaf musician

This event is being held on February 15th, from 1 PM to 2:30 PM in the Artium at App State's Hickory Campus (800 17th St NW, Hickory) and 5 PM to 6:30 PM at the PSU Parkway Ballroom (263 Locust Street, Boone).
