Catawba Science Center (CSC) is proud to be a part of The Ronald McDonald House Charities of North Carolina, Inc.'s 1,000,000 Pop Tab Challenge. Recycled beverage tabs help support your local Ronald McDonald House Program, a temporary "home-away-from-home" for the families of seriously ill children being treated at nearby hospitals.
Everyone can help us reach our goal by filling a limited edition collection house box or a sealable plastic bag with 100 rinsed pop tabs and bring it to CSC. The collected tabs will be placed in a larger collection house located in CSC's Aquarium and Millholland Planetarium lobby.
In return, visitors who bring in 100 rinsed pop tabs (in the collection box or in a plastic bag) will receive one free child's general admission, a gift certificate good for one free McDonald's Happy Meal and will have a great time seeing live butterflies in the Flutter-By Butterfly Habitat.
The limited edition collection boxes will arrive at CSC and at local McDonalds around June 20, 2013 but kids don't have to wait to bring their tabs into CSC. They can start bringing their 100 pop tabs in plastic bags to CSC right now and still receive the same great offer.
McDonalds will also have special Catawba Science Center tray liners in their restaurants during this challenge. These tray liners provide more information about the Ronald McDonald House Charity, CSC events, fun facts about pop tabs & butterflies, games plus they give kids the opportunity to create their own colorful butterfly on the back. If they bring it to CSC they will get a free child's general admission to the Science Center. CSC will display these wonderful works of art right outside the Flutter-By Butterfly Habitat.
Thank you for helping CSC reach our goal but more importantly thank you for helping The Ronald McDonald House Charities of North Carolina, Inc. provide support to families of sick or injured children in their time of need.
