You can Take a Bite Out of Hunger in Catawba County on Fat Tuesday, February 17th, 2015. *Due to inclement weather, this event has been rescheduled to Tuesday, February 24th.*
Eat at one of the following Hickory area restaurants and 10% of the cost of your meal will be donated to support the food pantry at the Greater Hickory Cooperative Christian Ministry (not including alcohol sales, or sales tax).
How does Take-A-Bite-Out of Hunger help the food pantry at GHCCM? Through Second Harvest Food Bank, we can turn a $5.92 donation into $219.04 and a $4.32 donation into $116.54! With just $5.92 we are able to purchase 37 jars of peanut butter. With just $4.32 we are able to purchase 27 boxes of cereal. Take-A-Bite-Out of Hunger allows us to purchase food in bulk to feed the hungry in our community!
The following restaurants will offer limited times during which meals purchased will benefit the Greater Hickory Cooperative Christian Ministry's food pantry:
- Jason's Deli - 5:00 p.m. until 10:00 p.m.
- PDQ - 5:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m.
