Saturday, March 18th, 2017 at the Newton-Conover Auditorium

March 8, 2017

This March, all are invited to hear the Tale of Oisin in Tir na’ n Og, an Irish legend, at the Newton-Conover Auditorium on Saturday, March 18th, 2017 at 11:00am. This captivating setting uses lever harp and a storyteller to bring to life the mystical story of Oisin and his adventure to Tir na’ n Og, just in time to celebrate St. Patrick’s Day!

In addition to the public performance, there will be a special school performance on Thursday, March 16, in which approximately 1000 first graders from Catawba County, Hickory Public, and Newton-Conover City Schools will experience the magic of storytelling concerts at no cost, thanks to the generosity of the United Arts Council of Catawba County.

Fairy Tale Concerts are a concept cultivated by Grace Wepner-Ludtke with arrangements by Alyssa Reit, both renowned, professional harpists. The N-C Auditorium staff and the Fairy Tale Concerts creative team are excited to continue encouraging children to use their imaginations to see how effectively music can express thoughts and emotions, just as words do.

Public performance of Oisin in Tir na’ n Og will be March 18th, 2017 at 11:00am. Tickets are $8 for adults and $5 for children 12 & under. Purchase tickets online; for more information, visit www.newton-conoverauditorium.org/fairytaleconcerts or call 828-464-8100.

Fairy Tale Concerts are made possible through a grant from the United Arts Council of Catawba County.
