Something exciting is coming this Fall... MOPS is coming to First United Methodist Church in Hickory this September!
MOPS stands for Mothers of Preschoolers, however, motherhood doesn’t end in preschool. MOPS Hickory proudly welcomes moms with kiddos of all ages, including homeschoolers! We are a community of women from all walks and stages of life that meet together to relax, have fun, learn about a variety of topics, build meaningful friendships, get creative, and work together on ways we can serve our community. MOPS exists for every mom and strives to provide a caring atmosphere where women can come to experience God’s love, share the triumphs and struggles of motherhood, and continue to learn to be the best mom they can be.
The benefits of MOPS are endless. Becoming a member of MOPS provides opportunities to meet moms in your area that are looking for lasting friendships and a place to connect and belong. Childcare will be provided and there will be a MOPPETS curriculum taking place in the classrooms. This allows moms the chance to relax knowing their children are being loved on and cared for in a safe environment. There will be food, coffee, crafts, and speakers/discussions. Finally, it’s a chance to learn, grow, serve, and be a part of an amazing community of women who are here to welcome you as you are and with open arms.
When:
We’ll meet on the 2nd Tuesday and 2nd Saturday of each month, 9:30-11:30am. Our September meeting will be Tuesday, September 19th, 2017, then we'll meet on Tuesday, October 10th, 2017 and start Saturday meetings on Saturday, October 14th, 2017.

What to Expect:
- Coffee & delicious food made with love
- Speakers: (live & by video) to encourage us and give us practical ideas
- Small Groups: make connections with women in the same season
- Crafts: enjoy uninterrupted creative time (even for the least crafty of us)
- MNO: (moms night out) will take place monthly for moms to connect outside of our meetings
- Play Dates: monthly play dates will take place for the weekday and weekend day meeting groups. Our first playdate will take place at Lowes Foods City Park on Saturday, September 23rd at 10am.
