It’s time to put on your struttin’ shoes, and hit the streets of Viewmont! The 8th annual Viewmont Street Strut, a celebration of the diverse nature of the community, is happening in Hickory on Saturday, September 23, 2017. Area businesses, retail shops and restaurants are uniting together once again to bring this event to life.
A daylong event, the Street Strut is designed to allow neighbors to gather and sample the wide assortment of restaurants and shops, right here in our own back yard. It also showcases many extremely talented artists and musicians who live and work in the area.
This year’s Street Strut event is going to be a day filled with exciting activities. There will be free trolley and shuttle services running through the heart of the Viewmont community, with ample parking available. Designated shuttle stops are being placed along the route, making it easy to visit as many businesses as possible.
The Street Strut is designed to be a great family outing, offering something for everyone. Each location is doing something different to celebrate the day. Activities are planned at various locations for kids, including “Paint a Pot/Pot a Plant” happening at Whitfield’s Flowers and More; bunce house, face painting, free hot dogs and Sno Cones at Animal Hospital North; and an appearance by Conrad the Crawdad and police car and fire truck on display at First Citizens Bank. For the adults, there are various businesses offering drink and food specials and samplings. As well, there will be special sale discounts, live music, talented artists, plus so much more!
