Hickory Ballet & Performing Arts is a pre-professional ballet company and performing arts center all in one! Founded in 2011 by Michael and Melissa French, HBPA has been focusing on classical ballet in the Hickory area for 7 years. This year, Leanna Bodnar has taken the reigns as Executive Director and has added experienced teachers in Tap, Jazz, Modern, and Musical Theater classes.
Join us this summer as we learn and grow through dance, drama and music! Through age-appropriate classes and activities led by professional faculty, students will develop strong technique and artistry in a nurturing environment, while discovering the joy of honing a craft.
8 weeks of summer camp will be offered June through August, with different weekly programs for ages 3-5, grades 1-5 and grades 6-12. Fun themes include Bugs & Butterfly Camp, Circus Camp, Fairy Tale Camp, Student Choreography, Ballet Intensive and more. Audition May 12th for a role in one of TWO Musical Theater Camps: Music Man Jr. and Singing in the Rain, Jr.
Open dance classes will be held Monday-Wednesday evenings June 11th-August 8th. Come in when you can to keep your skills sharp or learn a new style of dance with classes in Ballet, Tap, Lyrical and Acro.
