A Farewell Note from the Publisher

By Anna Hall December 26, 2018

My dear readers,

It was in 2010 when I first discovered Macaroni Kid; another parent in my daughter’s preschool told me about the fabulous newsletter full of local kid-friendly happenings. Like you, I followed it regularly to find out what’s going on around town. Then in December of 2011, after Kara, the publisher at the time stepped down, I decided to take over the site. That would prove to be one of the best decisions of my life.

For 7 years, I’ve been delivering the scoop on all that our area has to offer for families. And boy, does it have a lot to offer! While my goal with the service has always been to help you find your local family fun, it has also been about much more than that. My hope was to connect people, enrich our community, and support local efforts. In doing so, Macaroni Kid has given me a sense of purpose and fulfillment, fostered many friendships and created lots of fun memories.

But now this journey called life is taking me down a different path, inviting me to explore what new possibilities lie ahead. I have been honored to be your publisher and blessed through the experience. I am proud of this community we have built together and so very grateful for all the connections made. Saying goodbye is bittersweet, but I am excited to see what the future will bring.

Macaroni Kid Hickory/Western Piedmont continues under new leadership and soon you’ll meet your new publisher who I am certain will likewise guide the site for the greatest benefit to our local area. As I bid you farewell, I want to thank you for all the love and support you have shown me over the years. I wish you all lots of family fun in this wonderful community we’re fortunate to call home.

Peace, Love and Macaroni,
Anna Hall
