Dear Readers,
"It's summa time, summa time, sum sum summa time!" It's time to officially welcome summer to the Carolinas!
A friend of mine, a mom of four, hosts a "say yes" day every summer with her crew. Go-karts? Yes! Ice cream for breakfast? Yes! A whole day where her kids get to call the shots. I will admit...I have not been brave enough to say "yes" to that idea myself! But, I applaud those of you whose "yes!" outweighs "no!" this summer break.
As a mom, I'm always caught somewhere between "plan it all out" and "let it flow" when it comes to summertime activities. Our family usually strikes a balance somewhere in the middle of every-minute-accounted-for and who-knows-what-the-day-will-bring.
For the last few years, the MK Events Calendar has been my daily coffee date on summer mornings. It has been part of my routine to see what was going on and to see what would be getting us out of the house for entertainment and education when we needed it. As I continue this habit, I hope this year, Hickory-W Piedmont Macaroni Kid will be a part of your daily routine too.
