Are you familiar with the Polar Plunge? Every year thousands of people get together during the coldest time of year to take on the challenge at events across North Carolina. What are they doing? They're daring to jump, some fully clothed, into the icy cold waters of an ocean, a lake, a river or a swimming pool- in the middle of winter. The Polar Plunge is about much more than just bragging rights- it's about supporting the Special Olympics of North Carolina. Money raised at each plunge fund equipment, training, attire, and health supplies for athletes in your state.
