Have you started distance learning with your kids yet? Mine are still pretty young, but between virtual classrooms and teletherapies, our lives went from normal, to slow, to super hectic quick enough to make your head spin. School is canceled. School is online. Oops, we missed a Google Hangout Session with his class. Oops, we didn't remember that therapy times changed and missed another meeting. And now we're out of something we need.
We are all adjusting to staying 6 ft apart, blowing kisses to relatives over facetime and messenger video-chats, and shopping with fabric covering our faces and gloves covering our hands- just going to the store is so different. Rushed. Lonely. It's no longer the say-hi-to-everyone-South that I know and love. (Seriously, the BEST thing about Catawba County- kindest people I've ever met). So I take a little comfort in the fact that the employees at my Walgreens (2427 Springs Road NE) are still the same as they've always been. They still welcome me in, smiling, offering their help. A little bit of normal, in a world turned on its side.
If you know me, you know I love Walgreens. It has been one of my favorite places to shop for years. So my family and I jumped at the chance to do something to say thank you. So Thank YOU! Thank you for being there for us, for helping us get our medications, our prescriptions, paper products, and all the things we need. (Like chocolate.)

Macaroni Kid is proud to partner with Walgreens for this campaign to thank their team members for continuing to stay open so we can care for our families. The author has been compensated for their time.
