With Christmas right around the corner, I found myself day-dreaming of the time I took my first baby to the mall to sit on Santa's lap. I remembered standing there patiently, waving and smiling at beautiful babies peeking over their mother's shoulders as the line stretched out in front of us.
Then I found myself saddened at the thought that those days might be long gone. No, not because my boys are older, and possibly nearing that age when Santa loses a little bit of wonder, but because of how drastically the pandemic has changed our lives. Will there be a Santa Claus at the mall this year? Will kids line up to sit on his lap and spend those few magical moments telling him how good they've been while describing their wish-lists? My kids are *almost* too old for Santa, at least to go sit on his lap. It's called The Magic Santa Experience at Tim Turnmire Photography, located in Claremont, North Carolina. The magic of this experience starts the moment you walk into the studio. Tim provides the pajamas and nightgowns you see in the photos, so you don't have to worry about what your kids are going to wear. From there he introduces the kids to Santa and Mrs. Claus, and all you have to do is sit back and watch your kids enjoying their time with Santa.
Santa and Mrs. Claus are absolutely perfect with their snowy white hair and cheery disposition. The studio is completely transformed with multiple scenes, and it feels like you just stepped into this perfect little North Pole cabin. Santa and Mrs. Claus spend some time making cookies with the kids, reading to them, decorating the tree, writing their wishlists, and getting them into the mail together. My kids LOVED it. I loved it because my kids are hard to photograph- and this session was tailored specifically to them.

Tim spends his time capturing these moments as they happen instead of posing the kids with Santa. The photos you get from your session are very authentic and special. He and Santa worked so well together it was almost like a dance, the way they moved from scene to scene, with my kids just happily following along.
