Easy Valentine's Letter Craft

January 27, 2022

This is a super inexpensive and easy Valentine's Day craft you can do with kids of just about any age. I had been seeing videos of this simple craft on social media and last night we decided we would try it out! You can get everything you need for this craft from Walmart or the Dollar Tree, although we used some craft paint we already had at home.

You'll need:

  • Small canvas boards (they come 2 in a pack at Dollar Tree)
  • Craft Paint/Acrylic Paint
  • Paint Brushes
  • Marker
  • Heart-Shaped Stickers (or just cut a heart from a piece of paper as I did).

First, you pick your Valentine's colors- I used a pastel pink and purple, but you can use any pastel color: Green, blue, yellow- match your decore or use your child's favorite color. You could probably even leave them white honestly and it would still look super cute. Then have your child paint the entire board - mine practiced some of his ABCs first.

Once your canvas is dry use a ruler or straight edge (I just used another blank canvas) and a marker to create the lines in your envelope. Then use stick-on or glue on a heart-shaped sticker to the point as if you were sealing it closed. Add a little "ps I Love You" note to the bottom and done!

You could also use a small block of wood to do this craft, which I think would look super cute slightly distressed (and it would stand on its own, bonus).
