One of the most popular plays by William Shakespeare, The Tempest tells the comic tale of Prospero, the overthrown duke of Milan, who maroons his betrayers on a magical island. There, he creates spells and enchantments that toy with the evildoers until they promise to return him to his throne. If you haven’t been to one of these types of shows before, it allows you to see theater in its purest form. It is theater the way it was performed in the time of Shakespeare himself as acting troupes performed publicly. Make plans now to attend!
The Green Room is a funded affiliate of the United Arts Council of Catawba County.
