Springmaid Mountain is a secluded 400-acre retreat located on the North Toe River, just a mile-and-a-half off the Blue Ridge Parkway. Guests enjoy many activities, including fishing, hiking, horseback riding, river adventures and simply unplugging from the hustle and bustle of everyday life. We are now offering two amazing fun camps to choose from:

Adventure Wilderness Camp

Great adventures are ready and waiting at Adventure Wilderness Camp at Springmaid Mountain Resort in Spruce Pine, NC! Adventure Wilderness Camp is a co-ed, week-long residence camp offered for campers who are rising 5th through rising 9th graders. The Blue Ridge Mountains of NC provide a beautiful backdrop while campers experience a variety of activities including primitive camping, tubing on the North Toe River, archery, and field trips, as well as traditional camp activities such as field games and crafts. Adventure Wilderness Camp will give campers the chance to unplug and explore the great outdoors while learning new skills, building confidence, and making friends! Each day will be filled with laughter, fun, and memory-making as campers learn to push the boundaries of their comfort zone and develop life-long skills. Drop-off will be Sunday afternoon and pick-up will be Saturday morning with parents being responsible for transportation to and from Springmaid Mountain. This is an overnight camp. Daily activities will take place in co-ed groups and all campers will share a bunkhouse, with boys and girls residing in separate wings.

Equestrian Camp

Week-long residential equestrian camps are offered at Springmaid Mountain Resort in Spruce Pine, NC. Campers of all levels will improve their horsemanship and riding skills while making new friends who share their passion for horses. A brief evaluation will be given to each rider on the first day of camp, and the Camp Director will place campers in the group that best fits their riding level. We will do our best to place campers in the group where they will be able to learn and improve the most; however, campers may be moved to a more suitable group at the discretion of the Camp Director. Daily activities will take place in co-ed groups and all campers will share a bunkhouse, with boys and girls residing in separate wings. All groups will play games and learn about horses. As opportunities arise, campers will be able to help with farm chores, watch a horse get new shoes, or see the veterinarian in action! In addition to everything equine, campers will enjoy hiking, tubing, group games, an overnight camp out (weather permitting), and a dance on Friday night. Campers will perform a demonstration at 10 am on Saturday morning.
