Chalk Our Walk Challenge is a free sidewalk chalk art exhibition/contest being held at Highland Recreation Center, 1451 8th St. Dr. NE, Hickory. Friday, May 7, 10:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m. and Saturday, May 8, 10:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. For more information contact Assistant Event Coordinator, Lance Riddile at 828-261-2254 or lriddile@hickorync.gov. Free for ages 3 and up. Chalk will be supplied. Hickory Parks, Recreation and Sports Tourism Administration Office is located at 1451 8th St. Dr. NE, Hickory 28658.

Register online at www.hickory.activityreg.com/selectactivity_t2.wcs to reserve your choice of a 3 hour block of time on one of the two days and your 10 ft. x 10 ft. space to design a masterpiece. For registering you will receive 1 box of complimentary chalk. Rules do apply. Register early spaces are limited. This is a free event. Prizes will be awarded in each category. Plus, a People’s Choice Award.
